Why Choose Wilson Elementary?
Wilson Dual Language Academy operates as a distinguished dual-language campus where students develop biliteracy skills that prepare them for success in a global society. The school features a unique university-focused approach where each grade level models a different academic department, bringing authentic project-based learning and college awareness into every classroom. Wilson hosts the HCISD Dyslexia Training Center, one of only five such centers in the state of Texas. As a National Capturing Kids Hearts Showcase School and No Place for Hate Campus, Wilson maintains an unwavering commitment to creating a loving, safe, and inspiring environment. Wilson Elementary earned a B rating overall in the 2024-2025 TEA accountability system, with an exceptional A in Closing the Gaps. The campus achieved First Place in UIL competition and has been recognized as a Capturing Kids Hearts Showcase School. Guided by the motto "Every Child, Every Day, Whatever It Takes," Wilson's dedicated staff creates an environment where Aztec pride flourishes and students develop the character and leadership to become confident life-long learners.

Campus History
Wilson Elementary honors Dr. Pierre Wilson, a physician and pioneer who helped develop the Primera community in the early 1900s. The school's roots trace back to 1915 when the Wilson Tract School District was organized. It grew from a wooden schoolhouse in 1916 to a two-story building by 1928, eventually integrating into HCISD in 1948. The current campus on Primera Road opened in 1975 after the original buildings were retired. Today, Wilson Elementary celebrates over 100 years of life-long learning and service to the Primera community.
