Moises V. Vela Middle School

Powered by HCISD AI

Hi, I'm Cosette Perouch,

an eighth grader here

at Moises V. Vela

Middle School, and I

would love to welcome

you in for a

champion check in. To

start off our tour,

I wanted to start

at the pyramid. I

wanted to start here

because our Vella Middle

School staff, the first

week we're back at

Vella, they come and

say a special prayer

to begin our school

year. And then at

the end, they do

the same thing. They

end it off with

a bang. If you

look around our pyramid,

there's multiple quotes that

you can see. Honestly,

my favorite would probably

be the one by

J.C. watts. Character is

doing the right thing

even when nobody is

looking. Now we're at

the Band hall, where

our internationally recognized

honors and jazz band

perform in practice.

Recognized for their

exceptional performances and

strong tradition of musical

achievement. And now here

we are at our

choir hall. Our choir

has had singers go

all the way up

to New York to

perform at Carnegie hall

and other events. And

now for our award

winning Bella Middle School

orchestra that I am

happily a part of.

Here at Vela, we

have one motto, Code

Black, which is believe.

Leadership, attitude, commitment,

knowledge. And this is

the motto that makes

us winners. This is

our Panther hall, where

we're currently going to

our computer science room

where they're working on

some coding. Here in

the office, we have

one of the most

important jobs, which is

our counselors. They help

with emotional support to

our students. One room

I'm really excited to

share is the Gold

Rush Room, a space

where both students and

staff can unwind and

have fun. Whether you're

into video games, shooting

some hoops, or playing

air hockey, this is

the perfect spot to

relax and recharge in

the Gold Rush Room.

And that was our

Vella Middle School tour.
