About Our School
Our Mission
To prepare students for life beyond the classroom with real-world learning, college credit, and career-focused pathways in health professions. The curriculum and student experiences are designed to help students identify the right medical pathway for them through hands-on clinical experiences.
Our Vision
To pave the way for the next generation of medical professionals through rigorous science and mathematics courses combined with hands-on clinical experiences. The program focuses on academic excellence while emphasizing the development of compassionate care and ethical responsibility.
Harlingen School of Health Professions is a grades 8-12 specialized academy preparing students for healthcare careers. The school offers six schools of study including Dental Science, Patient Care, Surgical Procedures, Pharmacology, Medical Science, and Sports Medicine.

Tina Garza
Education from Sam Houston State University and The University of Texas-Pan American
Mrs. Tina Garza is a graduate of Sam Houston State and the University of Texas Pan American. She has served in the Harlingen School District since 1994 as a teacher at Harlingen High School, Science Content Area Specialist, and most recently as Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction before being appointed principal of HSHP.
