HSHP offers six distinct schools of study: Dental Science, Patient Care, Surgical Procedures, Pharmacology/Biomedical Technology, Medical Science, and Sports Medicine/Therapeutic Services. Students can earn industry certifications including LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse), CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, and PCT (Patient Care Technician). The school maintains strong partnerships with local hospitals, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities, including Valley Baptist Medical Center, providing students with professional advisors and real-world clinical experiences. The Harlingen School of Health Professions (HSHP) opened in the fall of 2014 as a specialized school of choice for students in grades 8-12. Located near Memorial Middle School on Rio Hondo Road, it was established to provide HCISD students with a focused curriculum for high-demand careers in the Rio Grande Valley's growing healthcare sector. The campus was designed to offer specific medical pathways, ensuring students are college and career ready with a 13th-year focus.
