The campus features student-centered outdoor learning spaces, a Parent Cafe program promoting strong parental involvement, and after-school enrichment through H.E.L.P. The school's focus on intentional discipline, academics, and engagement has earned it statewide recognition. Students are affectionately called 'Caterpillars' or 'Remmies,' reflecting the school's nurturing philosophy. ECA was selected as a 2024 H-E-B Excellence in Education Early Childhood finalist, receiving a $5,000 grant for Kinder Readiness activities. The campus has been designated as an Apple Distinguished School and earned a 2024-2025 TEA accountability rating of B. Patricia Salazar from ECA was named the 2024-2025 HCISD District Elementary Teacher of the Year, highlighting the exceptional quality of educators at this specialized campus.

Campus History

Early Childhood Academy was established to serve as HCISD's centralized foundation for learning, offering a specialized Pre-K and Kindergarten environment for the district's youngest scholars. Located at 2809 N 7th Street, the academy focuses exclusively on early childhood education, providing intentional, purposeful learning experiences that establish strong academic and social-emotional foundations. The campus has evolved into a model of early childhood education, recognized as an Apple Distinguished School and a 2024 H-E-B Excellence in Education finalist.
