Our Mission
At HCISD, our students begin their journey to 21st century success in a safe environment that strives to promote engaged learning. Students learn through Project Based Learning, a method for curriculum that focuses on hands-on, high rigor lessons where students collaborate in order to facilitate their own learning.
Our Vision
To provide individualized learning opportunities for students, preparing them for life beyond the classroom with real-world learning, college credit, and career-focused pathways. The campus features a university feel designed to enhance college-readiness during this important transition in students' academic careers.
Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy provides a dedicated 9th grade experience helping students transition from middle school to high school. The school offers STEM/PLTW programs and fine arts pathways in a supportive environment.
